Mailchimp alternative

Email built for release day, not newsletters.

Mailchimp was built to sell products. Your emails carry music. Promoly sends your tracks with a player, a download, and a feedback form built in, tracks every play back to a name, and prices by what you send instead of how many contacts you keep.

The per-contact tax stopped making sense

As of July 2026, Mailchimp's free plan caps at 250 contacts and 500 sends a month, and its Premium tier runs $350 a month, with price stepping up as your audience grows. Musicians get punished twice: your list grows fastest exactly when a release lands, and most of those contacts sit quiet between releases. Promoly plans meter monthly sends and sender profiles instead, so a big quiet list costs you nothing extra.

Everything a release actually needs

Campaigns that carry music

Upload a track, pick your contacts, hit send. Recipients stream, download, and leave feedback on a clean promo page. Average send takes about a minute.

Signals with names on them

Open rates are getting fuzzier every year. Promoly shows you plays, downloads, link clicks, and written reactions, each one tied to a person you can follow up with.

Landing pages included

Every campaign gets a shareable page. Presave links, smart links, and event pages come with the plan, so your whole release funnel lives in one place.

List hygiene by default

Bounces, unsubscribes, and dead addresses get handled automatically, which keeps your sender reputation healthy and your open rates honest.

Early access

Fan-Mailer is coming to the same dashboard

Promoly has always been about reaching tastemakers. Fan-Mailer adds a separate lane for mailing your fans: consent-checked imports, a hosted signup page, a preference center, and a Release-Day composer, all sending from infrastructure kept apart from your promo lane. It's rolling out to accounts in early access now. Start a trial and you'll be in line when your slot opens.

Trusted by people who send a lot of music

"It takes about one minute to start and send a campaign but still has everything you need. The team are really personable and helpful too."
TJ Flanders, Never Say Die Records

Moving is a 10-minute job

Export your contacts from your current tool as a CSV and import them into Promoly. Groups come across, suppressions are respected, and your first campaign can go out the same afternoon. If you get stuck, the Help section in your dashboard walks you through it, and a real person answers the chat.
